Step into a rewarding contract role supporting elementary students as a Special Education Teacher in a dynamic school setting near Warwick, RI. You’ll play an integral part in the academic and personal development of students in either 2nd or 3rd grade, providing individualized and small group instruction tailored to their unique needs as defined in their IEPs. This opportunity enables you to apply your expertise where it matters most – helping young learners reach their goals.
Qualifications:
- Valid Rhode Island SPED Certification required
- Prior experience teaching elementary-aged students preferred
- Understanding of IEP development and implementation
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to adapt instruction to diverse learning styles and needs
Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and small group instruction for elementary students with special learning requirements
- Develop and implement effective strategies based on IEPs to foster academic progress
- Collaborate with general educators, support staff, and families to ensure consistent support and goal achievement
- Monitor student progress and maintain detailed documentation
- Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that values student growth and participation
- Engage in ongoing professional development as applicable
What You Can Expect:
- Contract position starting as soon as possible and extending through June 17th, 2027
- Full-time hours, 37.5–40 per week across five days, providing consistent engagement with students and colleagues
