Assistant General Manager

JOB SUMMARY/OBJECTIVEThe Assistant General Manager is the anchor of the team, working as a leader who sets the standard for customer service, supporting daily operations, assisting with training, spearheading equipment maintenance and studio readiness, managing inventory and supplies, and helping drive revenue through exceptional guest experiences. The AGM reports directly to the General Manager to keep the studio performing at a consistently high level.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESGuest ExperienceDeliver exceptional guest services across every touchpointServe as an escalation point for client concerns, resolving issues professionally and promptlyEnsure studio environment is exceptionally clean, welcoming, and on-brand alwaysStudio ManagementAlways maintain a photo-ready studio; ensure the studio scent is always pleasant; conduct cleaning walk throughs at least three times a day setting expectations for improvement as well as giving recognition for good performance.Oversee front-of-house and back-of-house readiness throughout each shift by managing/executing daily and weekly cleanliness and facility checklistsMaintain studio maintenance tracker and ensure tasks are completed regularly to uphold high studio standardHelp coordinate repairs and vendor service callsOversee retail and supply inventorySupport the General Manager with daily reporting, scheduling, and administrative communicationConversions & Team CoachingGuest conversion through individual membership, package, and promotion salesHelp coach team on consultative selling, conversion techniques, and tactics that support goals; hold team accountable to goalsAssist with cancellation and freeze requests, applying retention-first approaches before processingHold team accountable for daily lead outreach and timely follow-upTeam SupportSupport onboarding and ongoing training of new and current Studio AssociatesMonitor staff performance and ensure adherence to studio policies and service standardsContribute to a positive, accountable, and wellness-forward team cultureAssist with managing team coverage requests and jump in when support is neededMiscellaneousDemonstrate, embrace, and exhibit decisions and behavior that embody Pause and the Pause vision, mission, and core valuesAssist with special projects, community outreach, and events as neededMiscellaneous duties as assignedQUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTSCollege graduateProven experience in a leadership role in the health, wellness, fitness, or hospitality industryStrong understanding of studio operations, including therapeutic modalities and client managementSales experience preferredGenuine passion for health and wellnessESSENTIAL SKILLSExcellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skillsHighly organized and able to multi-task under time constraintsStrong time management skillsStrong customer service and troubleshooting skills PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / ENVIRONMENTRequires a wide range of constant physical activities, including but not limited to: sitting, standing, walking, bending, kneeling, twisting, pushing, pulling, and reachingFrequent repetitive movementsContinuous exposure to moderate noiseFrequent walking and standing on hard surfacesFrequent movement, lifting or carrying of weight up to 50 poundsFrequent exposure to dust, chemicals, and cleaning solutionsFrequent exposure to the varying temperatures associated with a spa-like environmentPOSITION TYPEThis is a full-time, studio-based hourly position: 35-40 hours per week, including 4-5 regular front desk shiftsWeekend availability requiredFlexibility to support studio needs as they ariseCOMPENSATION & PERKS$18-22/hour base pay, plus monthly bonus opportunitiesEligible to accrue PTOComplimentary studio services, excluding medical servicesDiscount on medical servicesDiscount on retail productsRelaxing studio environmentOpportunities for growth within the companyOTHER DUTIESPlease note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
