HR Generalist

We are looking for an HR Generalist to join our growing team and support the day-to-day people operations of the organization. Responsibilities About Altop Energy Altop Energy is a rapidly growing U.S.-based energy trading firm operating across physical and financial power markets in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. We operate a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment where accountability, ownership, and collaboration are highly valued. Support day-to-day HR operations across the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, employee changes, offboarding, and maintaining accurate employee records. Coordinate new hire onboarding, documentation, background checks, I-9 processes, and HR system updates. Support recruitment activities including scheduling interviews, candidate communication, job postings, and offer documentation. Partner with managers and employees on routine HR questions, policies, benefits, leave, and workplace matters. Assist with benefits administration, including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and other employee benefit programs. Coordinate with payroll and benefits providers to ensure employee information and payroll-related changes are accurate and timely. Maintain HRIS records and personnel files while ensuring data accuracy and confidentiality. Assist with HR compliance, employment documentation, and required reporting. Support performance management, employee engagement, and other people initiatives. Help develop, maintain, and communicate HR policies, procedures, and employee resources. Prepare HR reports and maintain employee data for management review. Assist with employee relations matters and raise complex issues appropriately. Support the HR team with special projects and process improvements as the company continues to grow. Qualifications 4 years of experience in a Human Resources Generalist, HR Coordinator, HR Operations, or similar role. Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. Working knowledge of core HR functions, including onboarding, benefits, payroll coordination, employee records, and HR compliance. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and follow-through skills. Ability to handle confidential and sensitive employee information with discretion. Comfortable working independently while collaborating closely with employees and managers. Proficiency with Microsoft Office/Google Workspace and experience working with an HRIS. HR experience in a fast-growing company or financial/energy environment is a plus.
