Crime Analyst I

The Crime Analyst I (CA) is responsible for establishing and coordinating the more complex operations of the laboratory's property control system and inventory management. The CA I performs technical and administrative duties for the Bureau of Forensic Services. Duties include: receiving case evidence, reviewing associated case information, and establishing a chain of custody for each submitted evidence item; monitoring the laboratory's evidence storage areas; and utilizing the Department's asset management system to track laboratory equipment, supplies, and vehicles.

• This position is located in the Division of Law Enforcement, Bureau of Forensic Services, Richmond Laboratory.

• Note: This position may be eligible for hybrid telework under Government Code 14200 for eligible applicants residing in California, subject to the approval of the Criminalist Supervisor and program need, upon completion of training for a maximum number of two weekly telework days.
