PARKING ENFORCEMENT OFFICER
City of Jackson, MS
Non‑Sworn Officer Position Responsibilities Patrol assigned area to enforce parking and related traffic ordinances; mark tires of parked vehicles; issue non-moving traffic citations for violations observed; apply and remove vehicle immobilization devices; arrange for vehicle towing. Report hazardous vehicles, expired registrations, suspicious incidents and individuals. Maintain records related to citations and vehicle impounds; prepare daily and monthly reports; prepare daily activity log and related police reports. Report defective parking meters; may perform minor meter repair. Assist sworn officers with traffic control at special events; direct vehicles and pedestrian traffic using hand signals and whistle. Qualifications Knowledge of objective and procedures of city parking and related ordinances. Knowledge of the Mississippi Motor Vehicle Code as it relates to non-moving traffic violations. Effective audio-visual discrimination and perception needed for making observations, reading and writing, operating assigned vehicles and equipment. #J-18808-Ljbffr
