Production Team Lead Assistant 

1st Shift                   -5:30 am – 2:30pm – Monday thru Friday  

2nd Shift:                 - 2:00pm – 11:00pm – Monday thru Friday  

General Summary: 

The production Assistant leader is responsible for being a leadership resource to team members, providing knowledge, experience, motivation, support, and advice. The Assistant Leader is responsible for knowing proper procedures for workers to follow and ensuring that they comply.  He/she encourages team effort and supportive attitudes between workers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

1. Assistant Team Leader should evaluates manufacturing equipment for safety and functionality, ensure that the room is ready for production and make sure you have all materials needed for production.
2. Motivate workers to achieve production quantity while maintaining high product quality.  
3. Ensure that All SKU’s are packed according to the production schedule.

Safety First! 

1. Ensure the quality of the product, accuracy of weights, correct labels are placed on boxes, and troubleshoot any problems that may arise.
2. Ensure that all employees are following the company’s GMP’s and address any employees not following the policies.
3. Assist employees on the line, if needed. Train new and temporary employees.  
4. Maintain inventory control of packaging materials with the Inventory Control Specialist.
5. Must be knowledgeable of our Food Safety HACCP plan and CCP’s.

Required Competencies, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.    

1. Basic math skills.
2. Bi-lingual Spanish/ Conversational English preferred   
3. Good physical fitness: Can stand/ walk for multiple hours/ shifts. Can lift up to 35 pounds.
4. Can work in a cooler (40 degrees or less) environment.
5. Basic mechanical works experience.  
6. Must be able to drive a safety culture through training meetings, addressing unsafe behaviors when seen and addressing unsafe conditions.
7. Ability to give constructive feedback.
8. Ability to receive and accept constructive feedback.
9. Have good time management skills.
10. Must follow GMP’s practices at all times.
11. Possess strong interpersonal skills to relate with all members of the team, have empathy.
12. To see that the line produces quality product at budgeted speeds, can make minor equipment adjustments to change over, start up or maintain product/ packaging quality.
13. Must be on time.
