We're Hiring! Bookkeeper / Accounting Specialist

Northfield, IL | Onsite | Direct Hire | $25–$30/hour

Are you an experienced bookkeeper who enjoys keeping things organized, solving problems, and being an important part of a team?

TalentFish is hiring a Bookkeeper / Accounting Specialist for an established, family-owned service and installation company in Northfield, IL.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on accounting, takes pride in accuracy, and prefers a collaborative, close-knit work environment.

What You'll Be Doing:

Managing day-to-day accounts payable and accounts receivable
Preparing customer invoices and applying deposits and payments
Reconciling bank and credit card accounts
Recording transactions and maintaining accurate financial records
Supporting month-end reporting and general ledger activities
Working with the service and operations teams to ensure accurate billing
Communicating with customers and vendors to resolve billing questions

What We're Looking For:

At least 2 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience
Solid knowledge of AP, AR, bank reconciliations, and basic general ledger accounting
Experience with accounting software and Microsoft Excel
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Strong communication skills and dependable follow-through

Even Better If You Have:

QuickBooks experience
Experience with a small business, contractor, or service company
Familiarity with job-based billing, work orders, or customer deposits

Compensation & Benefits:

$25–$30/hour, depending on experience
Full-time, direct-hire opportunity
Health insurance and paid time off
Established, family-owned company

Location: Northfield, IL — 100% onsite. Candidates must be able to commute reliably.
