Highway Maintenance Specialist Location: South Fork, CO Total annual compensation for this position is $53,934 ($53,934 base pay). Base pay is $2,074.39 biweekly ($53,934 annually). Your daily work varies with project needs, weather, environment, and road conditions. You will be on‑call on a rotating basis and may respond to weather or other emergencies. You will typically work in a team with a lead highway maintenance specialist. Plow snow Operate heavy equipment such as tandem dump truck, loader, tractor mower, etc. Mow grass and weeds Remove debris from roadways, culverts, and tunnels Shovel gravel, sand, concrete, and asphalt Dig ditches Install and repair guardrails, highway markers, signs, and lighting Fill potholes and roadway cracks Set out signs and cones for traffic control Remove and cover graffiti Install pavement markings/striping Stop or slow traffic in emergency situations Maintain equipment and perform minor repairs Follow safety guidance and wear proper safety equipment What Impact You Will Have Your work keeps Colorado’s roadways open and safe, benefiting all Coloradans and visitors and supporting the state’s economy.
