CHIEF PHYSICIST

Responsibilities Chief Physicist for the Radiation Therapy Department at George Washington University Hospital. Primary responsibilities include: Providing clinical physics support for all aspects of radiation therapy services, including treatment planning, delivery, and quality assurance. Evaluating and coordinating medical physics and dosimetry strategic priorities such as program development, ACR accreditation, standardization, and quality assurance. Managing staff functions – hiring, training, educating, and evaluating medical physics personnel. Qualifications Education/Qualification PhD in Medical Physics or related field plus minimum 2 years of residency or specialty training. Advanced degree in Radiation Physics required. ABR and ABMP board certified. Minimum 3 years of clinical treatment planning experience. Minimum 7 years of total experience in clinical medical physics, including dosimetric treatment planning. Documented formal training in treatment machines, IMRT, SRS, SBRT, 4DCT, HDR brachytherapy, and IGRT. Established research activities. Skills Fluent in spoken and written English.
