Job Description

A school district in Denver, Colorado is seeking a qualified Special Education Teacher (Mild/Moderate) for a full‑time, school‑based contract . This position serves K–12 students and offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative educational environment with ongoing professional and administrative support. Responsibilities

• Provide direct instruction and educational support to students with mild to moderate disabilities
• Develop, implement, and manage Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with IDEA and Colorado state regulations
• Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, related service providers, and families
• Adapt curriculum, instructional strategies, and assessments to meet individual student needs
• Monitor student progress, collect data, and adjust instruction based on IEP goals
• Participate in and facilitate IEP meetings while ensuring procedural compliance
• Serve as a case manager for assigned students as needed
• Maintain accurate documentation and student records
• Support a structured, inclusive, and positive learning environment

Qualifications

• Active Colorado Special Education Generalist License with Mild/Moderate qualifications required
• Ability to pass background checks, fingerprinting, and district clearances
• Licensing and credentialing support may be available for eligible candidates

Education

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Special Education or a related field

Experience

• Previous school‑based or special education experience preferred
• Experience supporting students with mild to moderate disabilities preferred
• Experience developing and implementing IEPs preferred
• New graduates with appropriate credentials are encouraged to apply

• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams
• Excellent organizational and documentation abilities

Work Hours

• Monday–Friday
• 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM
• Approximately 37–40 hours per week
