Embark on an engaging educational journey as a School Psychologist for the upcoming 26/27 academic year in a vibrant Michigan community. This contract opportunity offers a chance to provide meaningful support to students and staff in either elementary (spanning three buildings) or middle school settings (across two buildings). With a flexible schedule of 20-30 onsite hours each week, you'll have the autonomy to make a genuine impact during the school year.
Ideal candidates bring a passion for fostering student success and excel at building positive relationships with learners, teachers, and families. You’ll collaborate closely with educators and multidisciplinary teams to develop strategies that address academic, social, behavioral, and emotional needs.
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid School Psychologist certification (MI or eligible for certification)
- Previous experience in K-8 school environments preferred
- Strong communication and consultation skills
- Skilled at administering assessments, developing interventions, and contributing to IEP/504 planning
- Adaptability and organizational abilities for working across multiple buildings
- Dedication to diversity, equity, and inclusion in education
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct psychoeducational evaluations and re-evaluations
- Provide direct and indirect student support, including counseling and behavioral intervention
- Participate in the development of IEPs and 504 plans in partnership with staff and families
- Consult with teachers and staff to promote effective instructional and behavioral strategies
- Support crisis intervention and prevention programs
- Document findings and maintain confidentiality
