Bookkeeper

Location: Oklahoma City, OK

Job Type: Full-Time

Schedule: Monday-Friday 8 to 5 onsite

Pay: Competitive salary based on experience

Position Overview

The Bookkeeper will be responsible for maintaining financial records, recording daily transactions, reconciling accounts, and supporting accounting operations. This role requires a proactive individual who can effectively manage multiple priorities while ensuring accuracy and compliance with established accounting practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Record and maintain daily financial transactions, including receipts, payments, deposits, and journal entries
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and other financial records
• Monitor account balances and investigate discrepancies when identified
• Assist with month-end and year-end accounting activities
• Prepare financial reports and summaries for management review
• Process invoices and ensure timely payment to vendors
• Maintain organized accounting records and supporting documentation
• Track expenses and support budgeting efforts
• Assist with payroll-related recordkeeping and financial reporting as needed
• Collaborate with internal departments to ensure financial data accuracy
• Support audits and special accounting projects when required

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Bookkeeper, Accounting Clerk, Staff Accountant, or related accounting professional
• Strong understanding of general bookkeeping and accounting principles
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software applications
• Excellent mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Ability to manage confidential financial information
• Strong organizational and time management abilities
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
• Experience with QuickBooks, Sage, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, or other accounting platforms
• Knowledge of financial reporting, reconciliations, and month-end processes
• Experience supporting small to mid-sized business accounting operations
