The Account Specialist (Payroll and AP) at the firm supports essential accounting functions, including processing semi-monthly payroll through Dayforce, ensuring accuracy, managing wage garnishments, updating employee records, and resolving payroll discrepancies while maintaining confidentiality. The role also involves handling accounts payable, reviewing and paying vendor invoices, reconciling expense reports and credit card statements, and issuing payments, including trust checks. The position requires collaborating with HR and providing monthly payroll reports to leadership. Candidates should have at least five years of experience in payroll and accounts payable, preferably within a law or professional services firm, with familiarity with SurePoint preferred. A four-year degree or equivalent work experience is ideal. Strong organizational skills, the ability to handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines, and excellent communication skills are essential. The role demands professional interpersonal skills to interact courteously with attorneys, staff, and vendors. This position is based in the firm's downtown Oakland offices with a hybrid work arrangement post-probation. Salary range is $91,000 - $110,000.
