Technical Operations Manager

Technical Operations Manager – NASA AEGIS is seeking a customer-focused, mission‑driven Technical Operations Manager to support NASA operations, overseeing operational readiness, workforce performance, customer engagement, training, system reliability, and safety compliance to ensure mission success. This is an onsite role in Kennedy Space Center, FL. Primary Responsibilities Demonstrate operational agility by responding to active operational requirements and providing efficient executable work plans. Conduct regular meetings and conversations with customers regarding required work status, new project work, and real‑time system situations, providing technical advice and guidance. Create, oversee, and manage system‑ and operations‑specific training for technical team members and provide remedial or additional training opportunities as required. Serve in additional management duty roles to fulfill contractual operations and maintenance requirements in support of AEGIS and NASA teams. Manage technical operations personnel supporting NASA communications and mission systems. Lead troubleshooting and restoration of network and communications systems. Manage operational readiness of critical infrastructure. Oversee technical performance, staffing, and workforce development. Coordinate engineering changes and system upgrades. Support strategic planning for communications and network operations. Manage operational metrics, SLAs, and performance reporting. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, IT, Computer Science, Business, or a related technical field with 8+ years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree with 6+ years of relevant experience. Able to obtain or maintain Public Trust security clearance. Practical experience in a technical operations environment focused on network and communications systems. U.S. Citizenship and successful completion of a Federal background check (required for access to NASA facilities). Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Project. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to deliver concise findings, reports, and briefings to customers and leadership. Ability to work collaboratively with engineering, operations, and mission support teams in a fast‑paced, safety‑critical environment. Strong leadership skills with proven experience managing diverse operational and technical roles. Demonstrated experience leading technical teams, including assigning work, mentoring personnel, managing performance, and coordinating operational activities. Pay Range $110,000 to $125,000, based on experience and assessment.
