OVERVIEW:
The Event Manager is responsible for managing all responsibilities for events classified as Student Activities. They Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing all aspects of their events including of being present at the event. They coordinate all necessary staff at the event to ensure all aspects are run flawlessly. Specific Annual SA events include, but are not limited to Homecoming Spirit Week, Homecoming Carnival, SA BBQ, UnTapped, Food Fest, lobby activities, snow tubing.
SPECIFIC DUTIES ARE:
- Report to the Entertainment Director, Chief of Staff and Executive Board
- Responsible for planning of assigned, as well as, new and innovated events
- Contact vendors to determine availability of activities.
- Create event budgets proposals and estimated revenue for events
- Prepare event proposals for the Entertainment Director's review
- Handle all vendor communications
- Responsible for any "Advance" arrangements with Vendors
- Function as supervisor for the execution of events and must be present at the events
- Will oversee coordination of all staff at the activity and any other resources
- Attend all SA Staff meetings, trainings and staff activities and complete any preparation work that may be required in advance of such meetings.
- Attend any Entertainment Department meetings
- Complete additional tasks as assigned by the Entertainment Director, Executive Board and Chief of Staff.
- Maintain a professional attitude with sincerity and enthusiasm reflecting SA's commitment to the student body.
SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to multi-task
- Strong oral and written communication skills, as well as negotiation skills
- Ability to acclimate within changing circumstances, and to accommodate various personalities while maintaining a professional demeanor
- Understanding of, and interest in student activities

Requirements

Must be an Undergraduate University at Buffalo Student.
