Job Description

The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Housekeeping team and ensuring that guestrooms and public areas are maintained to Fairmont Copley Plaza standards. The position supervises and supports Housekeeping staff, inspects completed work, and ensures guestrooms are clean, well-maintained, and ready for guest occupancy. The Housekeeping Supervisor plays an essential role in maintaining high standards of cleanliness, efficiency, and guest service throughout the hotel while ensuring that daily housekeeping operations are completed accurately and efficiently.

DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS

ESSENTIAL

• Approach all encounters with guests and employees in a friendly, service oriented manner.
• Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Fairmont Standards, as required by scheduling which will vary according to the needs of the hotel.
• Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include wearing the proper uniform and name tag while working.
• Comply at all times with Fairmont standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
• Inspect all rooms assigned to room attendants in his/her section of the hotel on a daily basis.
• Notify Room attendant of any deficiencies found in the room and note on the attendants board. Return room attendant to correct deficiencies when applicable.
• Re-inspect corrected room.
• Inspect all closets assigned to houseperson in his/her section of the hotel on a daily basis.
• Inspect public area of the hotel on a daily basis.
• Check appearance of all employees to ensure compliance with Fairmont standards of appearance.
• Prepare room attendants daily assignments.
• Submit maintenance reports/ requests to Engineering department.
• Confer with front office regarding information about discrepant rooms via email, phone or in person.
• Physically checks discrepant rooms to ascertain status.
• Inspect room attendants’ carts/signs board in the morning and the afternoon.

MARGINAL

• Assist Housekeeping Management in the preparation of the standard of the week.
• Perform all other related duties as requested.
• Follow all procedures as outlined by the Director of Housekeeping.
• Other duties as required.

The hourly start rate is USD $34.27-35.27

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS AND STANDARDS

EDUCATION

• High school diploma preferred.
• At least one year of progressive experience in a hotel or related field required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Long hours sometimes may be required.
• Medium work – Exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally, and /or 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly, to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.

• Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly.
• Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.

OTHER ABILITIES, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE

• Bilingual helpful
• Knowledge of hotel cleanliness standards.
