LAB Support Technician

Laboratory Specimen ProcessorPrepares specimens for stat and routine testing/analysis or transport to external laboratory.Responsibilities:Receives, accessions, and tracks specimens in the department's information system(s).Verifies accuracy of collected specimens against orders. Prepares specimens for testing or shipment to external laboratory.Disposes of specimens according to policies and procedures.Maintains specimen handling and testing supplies as necessary to ensure an adequate inventory. Performs clerical tasks as necessary or assigned, including answering calls and entering data.Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
