Location: Madison, WI (On-Site / Field-Based)
Schedule: Full-Time | 24/7 On-Call Rotation | 30–40% Overnight Travel
Pay Rate: $24.00–$26.00/hour
Employment Type: Hourly

Overview

OWL Services is seeking a Field Service Technician to install, maintain, and repair electro-mechanical equipment across customer sites. This role is ideal for a mechanically inclined professional who enjoys troubleshooting, working independently, and delivering reliable service in the field.

Technicians are critical in ensuring equipment such as POS systems, alarms, and security devices operate efficiently and safely while maintaining excellent customer service standards.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot, inspect, repair, and replace electro-mechanical equipment
Diagnose issues and implement effective solutions
Service equipment including cash registers, coin changers, alarms, and POS systems
Complete service requests and maintenance tasks in a timely, professional manner
Review work orders, manuals, and technical drawings
Utilize testing devices, hand tools, and power tools
Follow all safety procedures and company protocols
Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation
Travel overnight 30–40% for service, installations, and upgrades
Maintain accurate documentation using company systems and mobile tools

Requirements

Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
Ability to work independently and be a strong problem-solver
Strong attention to safety and adherence to safety protocols
Willingness to participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation
Ability to travel 30–40% overnight
Good driving record
Proficiency with computers and smartphones

Nice to Have

Experience with POS systems (Verifone, NCR)
Experience working with alarm systems
Experience troubleshooting electro-mechanical equipment
Ability to complete service requests professionally and efficiently
Ability to review work orders, manuals, and technical drawings
Experience using testing devices, hand tools, and power tools
Willingness to support installations/upgrades in other regions
