Overview A law firm seeks a patent attorney with expertise in biotechnology for its San Francisco office. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years of experience in preparing and prosecuting patent applications, particularly in the field of in vitro diagnostic assays. Responsibilities Prepare and prosecute patent applications in biotechnology. Draft patent applications for in vitro diagnostic assays. Manage patent portfolios effectively. Collaborate with cross-functional teams. Requirements Minimum of five years of experience in patent law. Experience with immunoassays, CRISPR-based assays, and nucleic acid sequencing. Familiarity with patent databases and search tools. Active bar admission in California or New York. Education M.S. or Ph.D. in molecular biology or a related discipline preferred. B.S. in a relevant field with significant post-graduate experience considered. Certifications Active registration with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
