Operations Manager

Job Summary The Operations Manager at Flagship Facility Services will be responsible for taking ownership of all customer accounts, maintaining and growing them to their full potential. Duties include assisting with customer inquiries, managing employees, ordering equipment and supplies, and maintaining long‑term customer relationships. Essential Functions Ensure proper staffing to meet client needs. Ensure all supplies, materials, and work performed meet the quality and budgetary standards set by the company. Maintain the operating condition and security of all tools and equipment owned, leased, or rented by the company and under the manager’s control. Maintain accurate and complete inventory of company materials, supplies, equipment and tools. Conduct inspections as necessary to ensure company quality standards are maintained. Evaluate the performance of employees reporting to the manager and discuss evaluations with employees. Conduct regular training sessions for employees on job procedures and safety. Conduct regular meetings with field supervisors and leads to review ongoing work, procedures, and problems. Attend all training and meetings given by Flagship leadership. Meet with customers, in person or by telephone, on a regular basis to ensure their needs are being met and to solicit additional work outside the contract. Oversee all janitorial operations, managing supervisors who oversee staff. Ensure cleanliness of all customer accounts. Manage job starts. Manage the safety program. Manage the operations budget. Knowledge and Skills Knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials, and supplies used in maintenance work. Excellent internal and external customer service skills. Professional appearance and demeanor. Ability to lead others and motivate people. Ability to work individually and as part of a team; an intelligent and articulate individual who can relate to people at all levels of an organization and possesses excellent communication skills. Microsoft Office skills including Word, Excel, Outlook, Kronos timekeeper, tablet and cellphone applications. Able to work independently or with little or no supervision. Education and Work Experience Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Business Management, Statistics, or a related field. Five to ten years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience, preferably in the janitorial/facilities field. Work Environment Fast‑paced office environment with moderate noise. The employee may be exposed to dust, odors, oil, fumes, and noise in shop environments. Physical Demands Occasional standing, walking, sitting, using hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, reaching with hands and arms, climbing stairs, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, talking or hearing. Frequent lifting of a minimum of 40 lbs. of office and facilities equipment. Close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
