Position Overview - Staff Accountant We are seeking a motivated recent graduate or early-career accounting professional to join our accounting department at our Whittier, CA office. Reporting to the Director of Accounting, you’ll get hands‑on mentorship as you support the day‑to‑day bookkeeping and accounting functions for a growing company of 70+ employees, gaining hands‑on experience across AP/AR, reconciliations, month‑end close and year‑end audits, the kind of broad, well‑rounded experience that builds a strong foundation for your accounting career. Key Responsibilities Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processing Support monthly bank and credit card reconciliations Help maintain the general ledger and ensure transactions are properly recorded Assist with month‑end close tasks and preparation of financial statements Prepare supporting schedules and documentation for audits and internal reviews Help monitor account balances and flag variances for review Collaborate with the accounting team to resolve discrepancies and improve processes Interface with Salesforce.com CRM (training provided) Learn and apply QuickBooks Enterprise (desktop) and Microsoft Excel (training provided) Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required 0-2 years of relevant accounting experience (internships welcome) Basic understanding of accounting principles and the full accounting cycle Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; QuickBooks experience a plus but not required Eagerness to learn, strong attention to detail, and reliability Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team setting Compensation & Schedule Salary: $50,000/year 15141 Whittier Blvd, Suite 530, Whittier, CA 90603 Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM (1 hour lunch) Benefits Medical, dental, and vision packages following 30 days of employment Paid Time Off (PTO) accrued bi-monthly: 10 days in the first year, available for use as accrued 401K plan options following 90 days of employment Casual dress code TopMark Funding is an equal opportunity employer.
