If you are dedicated to customer success and love the outdoors like we do, we'd like to meet you!Why Choose The Bruce Company?Enjoy work/life balance, weekly pay, and year-round benefitsMake a difference by beautifying the outdoor environment!Work on some of the largest and most prestigious projects in Dane County!Establish and develop your career with Southern Wisconsin's leader in landscaping!What You Will Be DoingThe Landscape Maintenance Crew Leader is responsible for performing landscape maintenance tasks and overseeing a crew of employees who complete mowing and edging of lawns, string trimming, dispersal of lawn clippings, raking and disposing of leaves and other yard waste, assisting with spring and fall cleanups, and overall maintenance of landscape at our customer sites.Directs, organizes, and oversees Landscape Maintenance tasks to assure quality and timely completion of work on customer sites.Drives company vehicle to transport crew from The Bruce Company to assigned job sites.Trains Crew Members on an on-going basis.Identify problems at the work site and follow through appropriatelyMow lawn either by hand or using a riding lawnmowerTrim and edge around driveways, sidewalks, trees, mulch beds, and wallsEliminate accumulated clippings via blowing or rakingBlow hard surfaces cleanParticipate in spring and fall cleanups as neededLoads and secures all tools and other necessary equipment and materialsCommunicate effectively with other coworkers to function as a team.Leads by example, and provides guidance for Crew Members, in regards to company policies and procedures such as attendance, conduct and dress code.Assist with snow removal during the winter months as business needs dictatePerforms other tasks as assigned by crew leader, supervisor, and/or manager.Working Conditions and Physical RequirementsWork is primarily performed outdoors during all seasons.Exposure to outdoor weather conditions, including inclement weather (rain, snow, heat or cold).The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Hearing protection is required for duties such as equipment operation that expose the individual to elevated noise levels.Duties of this position may expose the individual to chemicals and fertilizers.ScheduleTypical work hours are Monday through Friday from 6:40am to 5:00pm (40-55 hours per week) during our peak season (approximately April to November). Saturday hours as neededThis is a Full-time Seasonal positionOccasional overtime as workload dictatesHours vary in winter months (approximately December through March) based on snow removalWhat Skills Do I Need?Previous experience with or ability to learn effective landscaping skills and techniques.Valid Driver's LicensePrevious equipment operating experience (Mowers, Trimmers, Edger's or other used in basic landscape equipment ) is helpful but not requiredKnowledge of trees, shrubs and other landscape products is helpful but not required.Must be able to communicate effectively in EnglishOther BenefitsThe Bruce Company offers a competitive hourly pay, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and retirement benefits as well as PTO.
