Director of Development

Description:
SUMMARY: The Director of Development is responsible for planning, organizing and directing Axess Family Services fundraising, major gifts, planned giving, special events and special campaigns.
SUPERVISOR: Executive Director
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and execute Axess Family Services Annual Fundraising plan.
- Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with major donors.
- Build a planned giving program with a focus on deferred gifts.
- Create and execute a strategy for a large, sustained base of annual individual donors.
- Oversee the organization of special events
- Maintain gift recognition programs.
- Coordinate fund raising special events.
- Work closely with the management team to focus on fundraising endeavors.
- Make public appearances to share information about Axess Family Services.
- Demonstrate professional conduct at all times.
- Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors Degree
- Strong interpersonal and writing skills.
- Skills to motivate staff, board members and other volunteers
- Organized and exhibit follow through on tasks and goals
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to meet agency requirements for criminal background check
- Ability to meet agency requirements for driving insurability
- Valid, unrestricted State of Ohio driver's license
- 3 years experience in professional fundraising
LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- Valid, unrestricted State of Ohio drivers license
COMPLIANCE:
This position requires compliance with AFS written standards, including its Compliance Program and Standards of Conduct and policies and procedures. Such compliance will be an element considered as part of the regular performance evaluation.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to use close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less). The employee will occasionally be working near moving mechanical parts, be exposed to outdoor weather conditions and exposed to a risk of electrical shock while running the copier, printer, other standard equipment and answering the telephone. The noise level in the work environment is low to moderate. Stress level can be high at times.
