Accounts Receivable Specialist

Summary:

MediaNews Group is seeking an Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our team! This position is responsible for credit and collections activities and will assist in billing, cash receipts, and other accounting tasks as needed.

The work schedule will be 8:00am - 5:00pm MST, Monday-Friday.

Please note: Although this is a remote position, candidates must reside in Colorado or Ohio.

What you will do:

• Monitor A/R aging and customer accounts to minimize past due accounts
  
• Perform customer credit analysis as needed
  
• Initiate collection calls, emails, faxes and letters
  
• Work with Circulation and Advertising Managers on escalating collection actions
  
• Distribute A/R aging reports and discuss issues with Circulation and Advertising Managers
  
• Use and maintain A/R collections module in Circulation and Advertising System(s)
  
• Perform Customer revenue and A/R trend analysis
  
• Take initiative to refine procedures, use tact and diplomacy in servicing the client and communicating with others and demonstrate ethical behavior
  

What you will bring:

• Ability to analyze and resolve problems with some supervision
  
• Accounting process and controls knowledge
  
• Strong sense of urgency combined with attention to detail
  
• Demonstrated ability to create Excel spreadsheets using formulas as needed as well as 10 key proficiency
  
• Interpersonal skills and team collaboration skills, along with strong customer service skills
  
• Demonstrated knowledge of automated collections/accounts Receivable/accounting systems preferred
  
• GED or high school diploma; Associate's degree preferred
  

Benefits and Compensation:

The hourly range is $16.00 - $17.75 or required city/county minimum wage. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to geographic location, education, work experience, time in role, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, the Company offers eligible employees a variety of benefits including medical, dental, life and disability insurance, 401k, as well as paid time off and select paid holidays (all benefits are based on eligibility).
