Employee Benefits Account Manager

Account Manager As an Account Manager at Horton, a Marsh business, you will be responsible for managing client relationships, executing customized service strategies, and ensuring the delivery of high‑quality insurance solutions. What You Do Execution of Client Service Work with Producers, Account Executives, service teams, and other internal departments to plan, execute, and track a customized service strategy for each client. Manage creation of proposals and summary documents that support client decision‑making. Build personalized client relationships through ownership of the service plan and multi‑channel communication. Analyze risk, coverage, and program structure and recommend options; execute coverage and program changes. Ensure accuracy of client portal information and facilitate client access to the portal. Explain coverage terms, program options, and related items to clients. Collaborate with internal departments to ensure timely service execution and report on service plan execution. Take an enterprise‑wide approach to client service by coordinating with other service teams. Prioritize workload, client service requests, and service parameters efficiently. Market Strategy and Negotiation Work with service teams to manage new business and renewal processes following workflow procedures and best practices. Create submissions for underwriters by engaging with clients on their exposures, coverages, and program needs. Communicate with underwriters and negotiate premium, coverage, and other terms on behalf of clients. Evaluate coverage, terms, and conditions of quotes and present comparisons to clients. Stay current on forms, coverage, industry trends, and legislation. Maintain positive relationships with carriers, attending meetings and events, and learn about their products. Data Process and Integrity Follow client service workflows and use internal resources such as process support team and reporting tools for efficiency and accuracy. Maintain complete client files with clear documentation in agency management systems. Achieve data completeness and process integrity by meeting activity timelines and quality metrics. Peer Relationships Participate in scheduled meetings with service teams to discuss accounts, renewals, and service needs. Train, guide, and mentor Client Service Representatives and other peers. Communicate effectively to provide timely and complete information for positive client relationships. Develop effective working relationships with Producers, Account Executives, carriers, and other departments. Your Education and Experience Required Producers License for Fire/Casualty or Life/Health, as appropriate. Availability to travel locally and to long‑distance client meetings. Means of transportation for local travel. 2+ years of Account Manager experience within an insurance brokerage, or comparable experience. Preferred BS/BA in Business, Insurance, or related field. CPCU, ARM, CEBS, or other professional insurance designation. Experience with agency management systems. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. The base pay will be determined by factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance‑based incentives and a competitive total rewards package including health and welfare benefits, tuition assistance, 401(k), and employee assistance programs.
