COO - Telecommunications

Responsibilities Manage and oversee the Director of Project Management, Program Managers and Project Managers to ensure the timely processing of project financial steps, including PORs, POs, and invoices Oversee the Project team handling of budgets and change orders based on contracts Develop high-level OSP schedule/budget for each opportunity for a deployment phase Develop detailed baseline OSP schedule upon project kickoff (using standardized OSP project tools), and maintain this schedule throughout the course of the project Ensure that project tracker is updated daily Hiring and managing a team that are qualified in OSP construction and managing contractors in the field and fiber engineering Manage all facets of the OSP project department including fiber engineering, program management, vendor selection and management as well as internal construction and splicing teams Daily and frequent interaction with third party outside plant engineering and construction suppliers, local municipalities, public utilities, product leads, and sales/sales support team members Deliver projects on time, on budget, within quality and safety standards Quickly resolve OSP roadblocks Effectively track, report and communicate OSP project progress Ensure construction management teams are executing according to planned project timelines Provide early communication on potential due date, interval, and/or budget slips along with corrective actions to the Executive leadership team Ensure as-built drawings to Fiber Engineering upon completion of construction for each segment Skills/Must Have BS Engineering related field or Construction Management or equivalent experience Fifteen years technical and management work related experience in the telecommunications industry with emphasis on transmission methods, OSP/ISP, optical networks, project management, and direct customer interface Ten years' experience with GIS system usage preferred Proven expertise in managing large-scale infrastructure projects, specifically in telecommunications and fiber optic construction (FTTH, OSP) Strong background in project management, financials, budgeting, and P&L responsibilities Proficient with PCs, Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Project, etc.) Experience in Vetro or similar fiber management tool Advanced knowledge of OSP networks, construction methodologies for fiber to the home delivery, design, GIS initiatives, and optical technologies The individual will be responsible for the prompt delivery of FTTx Location Los Angeles, California Salary $250-275k & Bonus & Equity #J-18808-Ljbffr
