Job Title: ICU Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-Hour Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: BSN Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Candidates must reside within a 50-mile radius. - Candidates may not be employed full-time, part-time, or PRN with any related facilities. - Candidates must have a valid driver's license. - Candidates are required to pass a skills exam during orientation. Description: This is an ICU Registered Nurse position. The unit accommodates 33 beds with an average daily census of 16 patients. Nurse-to-patient ratios are typically 1:2-3 for adults. Common patients include those with trauma, cardiac issues, overdose/substance abuse, adult sepsis, post-stent, pacemaker placements, strokes, vascular cases, renal failure, heart failure, and respiratory distress. RNs are required to titrate drips. Common titratable and set rate drips include cardiac drips, insulin, and sedation. Nurse aides are available based on patient census. Floor support includes a healthcare support technician three days per week. RNs are responsible for troubleshooting respiratory therapy equipment such as vents, CPAP, BiPAP, and high flow systems. Shifts are scheduled from 0630-1830 and 1830-0630. Self-scheduling is allowed for core staff. Floating to other units may be required, typically to a Progressive Care Unit or occasionally Medical-Surgical. RNs will maintain the same patient ratios assigned on these units. Holiday requirements include a minimum of two holidays during the contract timeframe. Weekend requirements are every other weekend. RTO must be provided upfront, with no additional requests approved after submission. The charting system is EPIC. RNs are required to read, interpret, and document telemetry strips. Candidates should possess the necessary certifications prior to applying. The position involves providing acute care in a fast-paced environment.
