Emergency Medicine Opportunity

Location: Our organization is seeking a dedicated physician to join our Emergency Medicine team at a Level III Trauma Center.

Facility Overview: We are a full-service hospital that handles approximately 25,000 visits annually. Our facility operates a 24/7 Hospitalist program and offers comprehensive air medical and ambulance services. We are equipped with CT/MRI capabilities within the department, bedside ultrasound, and point-of-use supplies available in every room.

Coverage and Support: Our team benefits from 42 hours of physician coverage each day. As a tertiary center, we provide extensive support from over 300 physicians and specialists, ensuring that most patient care can be managed on-site. Our specialties include Trauma Surgery, Neurosurgery, Cardiology, Gastroenterology, ENT, Pediatric Hospitalists, OBGYN, Pulmonary/Critical Care, Neurology, Infectious Disease, Orthopedic Surgery, Vascular Surgery, Anesthesia, and Radiology.

Teaching Opportunities: This position also offers the chance to engage in teaching residents, medical students, and PA/ARNP students.

Compensation and Benefits

• Employment Type: This is a hospital-employed position, providing a comprehensive benefits package valued at over $65,000.
• Base Salary: $421,000 per year ($225/hour) plus performance incentives.
• Recruitment Bonus: A signing bonus of $100,000 is available.
• Relocation Assistance: Up to $15,000 for moving expenses.
• Annual Time Off: 120 hours of ATO per year.
• Shift Bonus: Additional compensation for extra shifts.
• CME Allowance: An annual allowance of $6,000 for continuing medical education.
• Liability Insurance: Employer-paid liability insurance and tail coverage.
• Health Benefits: Coverage for health, dental, vision, life, and both short-term and long-term disability begins on the first day of employment.
• Retirement Plans: A 403(b) retirement plan with employer contributions and matching, along with an optional 457(b) deferred compensation plan.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an accredited medical or osteopathic medical school.
• Completion of an Emergency Medicine Residency Program or Fellowship is required.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible status is necessary, with certification to be obtained within three years of eligibility.
• Must be eligible for medical staff privileges at our facility.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team are essential.
• Must hold or be eligible for a physician license in the State of Iowa, along with an Iowa Controlled Substance Certificate and a Federal DEA Certificate.
