TRANSACTIONS ANALYST

Job Description and Duties

Please note this is a limited term position with the possibilty of being extended up to 24 months, or becoming permanent.

Under the supervision of the Payroll & Benefits Manager, Supervisor I, the Limited Term Analyst I performs a variety of less complex analytical duties in the Payroll & Benefits Unit in the Human Resources Branch (HRB) of the California Civil Rights Department. The Analyst I is also responsible for providing day-to-day administrative, clerical, and office support related to timekeeping and human resources (HR). The incumbent's role is critical in maintaining HRB’s confidential files, correspondence, and tracking spreadsheets, and assisting with HR workload management. The Analyst I analyzes matters and logically and creatively develops courses of action to make recommendations that meet the needs of internal/external customers. The incumbent is expected to maintain confidentiality regarding various personnel-related matters.

In July 2025, the State of California implemented the Personal Leave Program (PLP) 2025. This program temporarily reduces employees’ monthly base pay in exchange for paid leave credits. This position is subject to PLP 2025 and will have a monthly base pay reduction of 3% in exchange for 5 hours of leave credits through June 2027. The salary ranges shown on this job posting do not reflect the salary reduction.

Working Conditions

This position is located at 651 Bannon Street #200, Sacramento, CA 95811.

This position is eligible for hybrid telework, in accordance with the Statewide Telework Policy and will be required to report to the office as needed/required. The successful candidate must reside in California upon appointment.
