Senior Software Engineer - Virtualization & Cluster

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

• We are seeking 8+ years of hands-on software engineering experience building and operating production systems, or equivalent depth of experience.
• We need strong system design fundamentals, including API design, data modeling, testing strategy, and operational reliability.
• We are looking for proficiency in Go, Java, or Python for scalable server-side development.
• We require experience in system design and data modeling.
• We need a solid understanding of virtualization automation, including VM lifecycle and core resources such as CPU, memory, storage, and networking.
• We require hands-on experience automating OpenShift/Kubernetes cluster lifecycles and day-2 operations, including upgrades, configuration management, and policy or compliance alignment.
• We expect experience building and supporting automated workflows in complex distributed environments, along with strong troubleshooting ability.
• We need working knowledge of security and compliance expectations, including authentication and authorization, secrets handling, data integrity, and secure SDLC practices.
• We require experience with workflow orchestration at scale, with Temporal strongly preferred and similar platforms considered.
• We need strong communication skills and the ability to influence peers across global teams.
• Preferred experience includes mentoring engineers and elevating engineering standards.
• Preferred familiarity with hypervisor environments such as VMware ESXi, OpenShift, and KVM.
• Preferred cloud-native experience across containers, CI/CD, observability, and reliability engineering.
• Preferred passion for innovation, AI, and continuous improvement.

• We will design, develop, and troubleshoot software solutions for virtualized cluster lifecycle automation.
• We will automate provisioning, configuration, patching, compliance enforcement, and decommissioning through platform APIs.
• We will promote enterprise-approved AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational results.
• We will use SDLC tooling, including approved AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to increase the value of our automation.
• We will identify and remove recurring issues through automation to strengthen operational stability.
• We will lead production deployments, own technical solutions, and diagnose issues using structured troubleshooting methods.
• We will contribute to large-scale infrastructure initiatives.
• We will document design decisions to improve auditability.
• We will mentor engineers through design reviews, code reviews, and technical guidance.
• We will collaborate with and influence peers across global teams.
