Overview Texas Oncology is looking for an Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team! This position will support the Infusion Department at our Texas Imaging and Infusion Center Dallas location. This is a PRN (As Needed) position, typical hours for this clinic are Monday - Friday (hours 8:30am-5pm) with no weekends, call, or major holidays. What does the Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) do? Under minimal supervision, the Registered Nurse provides professional nursing care for patients in accordance with national and company standards and specialty regulations. The RN demonstrates knowledge of physiological, psychological, and developmental variations in the patient population—including late adolescence, adulthood, middle age, and the elderly. They collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to assess and therapeutically manage patient and family needs and support the US Oncology Compliance Program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards. Responsibilities Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate, and promote continuity of care consistent with established standards and practices. Assess patient/family needs and provide teaching and instructional material. Prepare and administer therapies under the direction and supervision of a physician. Administer all medications/blood products using correct dosage, route, time, and technique. Ensure pre-authorization and appropriate consent forms are obtained prior to therapy administration where applicable. Facilitate dose modification by assessing the patient, labs, protocol, and consulting the physician regarding dosage changes, problems, and symptom management. Perform venipuncture, access implanted ports, and maintain central line catheters. Maintain accurate documentation of patient care and treatments provided. Apply knowledge of reimbursement procedures and charge capture. Qualifications Level I Graduate from an accredited professional nursing education program, BSN preferred. Hold an RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in the practicing state. Maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Meet continuing education requirements. Entry level: 0-3 years nursing experience; oncology experience strongly preferred. Level II Minimum three (3) years of nursing experience; oncology experience strongly preferred. Level Senior Minimum five (5) years nursing experience, including at least one year in oncology strongly preferred. Oncology certification preferred.
