Make a real impact in the lives of young learners by supporting K–2 students as a Special Education Resource Teacher. This on-site contract opportunity is based in a vibrant, inclusive elementary school near Theodore, AL, where you’ll work closely with an elementary resource classroom serving approximately 20 students, primarily with autism spectrum needs. Key Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid educator certification, with documentation required at the time of interview
• Previous experience in special education, preferably with Pre-K to 2nd grade students
• Strong background in autism-specific interventions
• Flexibility to support both push-in and pull-out instructional settings
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Willingness to work exclusively on-site

What You’ll Do:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) to address each child’s unique needs
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, aides, and families to foster a supportive environment
• Deliver both classroom-based and pull-out instruction for a caseload of 20 students
• Track progress, document achievements, and adapt approaches to ensure every student’s growth
• Participate actively in school and district meetings as required
