Associate Director of Community Safety & Transit Operations (CTA)

MFS is currently looking to fill a new full-time role of an Associate Director of Community Safety & Transit Operations , within our MPI center. SALARY: The average starting salary for this position will fall in the range of $100,000 - $112,000 annually. Where candidates fall in this range will be based on skill and experience level.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Develops and coordinates monthly meetings with Senior CPRU FieldManagers and Crisis Response staff within the assigned unit. Develops and maintains contacts with community groups relating to program needs. Works collaboratively with community agencies, organizations, and institutions. Works collaboratively with other program supervisors in the unit to carry out unit goals and looks for other opportunities for program development. Works effectively with diverse staff and service population. Manages deployment strategy for assigned region staff. Manages documentation for assigned region. Participates in strategic planning and debriefing meetings. Provides recommendations based on deployment mission outcomes. Trains staff, interns, Metropolitan Peace Initiatives partners, and external partners on the MPA street outreach best practice model and curriculum. Tracks case load numbers and participant outcome data and provides timely reports to Director of Community Safety & Transit Operation, as requested. Collaborates with Metropolitan Peace Initiatives and external partners to provide targeted support services to participants. Provides emergency support to Metropolitan Peace Initiatives partners and participants in crisis. Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree or significant experience working with high-risk, street-involved individuals, required. 4+ years of experience in Community Violence Intervention with increasing levels of responsibility, required. First hand knowledge of the community and knowledge of current street conflicts, required. Experience or training in crisis intervention, preferred.

TRAVEL/MOBILITY REQUIREMENTS

Travel/Driving for work required with a personally owned vehicle .

Ability to work effectively with diverse individuals and groups. Demonstrated superior skills with families or communities. Demonstrated competence in consultation, teaching, and writing.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

While performing the essential duties of this job, the employee is required to sit and stand for sustained periods of time, frequently talk, hear, use hands and fingers to feel, handle, and operate objects or controls, and occasionally stand, bend, stretch, stoop, kneel and crouch. The employee is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing, and viewing a computer terminal .
