Opportunity:

Medical Assistant - Medical Assistant

Job Details:

• Work 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM Monday through Friday with no weekends or holidays
• 26-week assignment
• Obtain patient vital signs and report abnormal results to the Registered Nurse
• Perform accurate data entry within electronic healthcare records related to patient care and interventions
• Room patients for providers in a clinic setting and direct patient flow to ensure effective clinic operations
• Administer vaccines and other IM/SubQ medications
• Complete point of care sample collection including phlebotomy
• Assist physicians, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners with examinations, procedures, and treatments as directed
• Prepare exam rooms and instruments for examinations and minor procedures
• Perform procedures such as cleansing superficial lacerations/wounds, dressing changes, ear lavages, electrocardiograms, peak flow testing, and other procedures as ordered by the provider
• Document all interventions in the electronic healthcare record

This correctional facility operates a medical unit that provides comprehensive healthcare services to the incarcerated population. The facility maintains a structured clinic environment where medical staff work alongside physicians, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners to deliver quality patient care. The medical team focuses on routine health management, preventive care, and minor procedures within a secure and organized correctional setting.
