Job Opportunity – Neuro ICU Registered Nurse – Virginia

Start Date: November 9, 2026
Location: Charlottesville, Virginia
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: Night shift, 36 or 48 hours per week; every other weekend and every other holiday required; must work 2 out of 3 winter holidays; 2:1 patient ratio

Highlights:

• 12-bed critical care unit specializing in life-threatening neurological and neurosurgical conditions
• Diverse case mix including CNS tumors, complex spine surgery, acute stroke, endovascular interventions, traumatic brain and spinal cord injuries, neuromuscular diseases, status epilepticus, and CNS infections
• Epic EMR required; 24 hours of orientation provided
• 2:1 patient ratios maintained across all shifts
• Up to 40 hours of approved time off available per 13-week contract
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, physical therapy, pharmacy, and rapid response teams

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of critical care nursing experience
• Active Virginia RN license (pending accepted, must be in hand by Wednesday before start date)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIH Stroke Scale certification required (pending acceptable with submission)
• Epic charting system experience required
• Proficiency in ventilated patient care, stroke management, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and infection prevention
• BSN preferred
• Flu vaccine required (no exemptions); COVID-19 vaccine not required
• Must adhere to facility float policy within scope of practice
