Job Opportunity – Neuro ICU Registered Nurse – Virginia

Location: Charlottesville, Virginia

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: Night shift, 36 or 48 hours per week; every other weekend and every other holiday required; must work 2 of the 3 winter holidays; 2:1 patient ratio; block scheduling not available

Highlights:

• 12-bed critical care unit specializing in life-threatening neurological and neurosurgical conditions
• Diverse case mix including CNS tumors, complex spine surgery, acute stroke, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, status epilepticus, and CNS infections
• Epic EMR required; 24 hours orientation provided
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, physical therapy, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
• Patient populations include adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Up to 40 hours approved time off available per contract

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience with 2:1 patient ratio experience
• Active Virginia RN license (pending accepted, must be in hand by Wednesday before start date)
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIH Stroke Certification required (pending applications accepted)
• Epic charting experience required
• Demonstrated skills in care of ventilated patients, CVA/acute stroke management, neuro intensive care, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and infection prevention
• BSN preferred
• Must adhere to facility float policy within scope of practice
• Flu vaccination required (no exemptions)
