About the Position

Job Opportunity – Surgical/Trauma ICU Registered Nurse – Virginia

Start Date: November 9, 2026

Location: Central Virginia

Schedule: 13-week assignment, night shift, 36 or 48 hours per week available. Every other weekend required. Must work 2 out of 3 winter holidays. 2:1 patient ratio. Block scheduling cannot be accommodated.

Highlights:

• Fast-paced 15-bed Surgical/Trauma ICU in a Level I facility
• Diverse case mix including post-operative surgical patients and multisystem trauma patients
• Epic EMR system required
• 24 hours of orientation provided
• Interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, physical therapy, pharmacy, and radiology
• Up to 40 hours of approved time off during contract

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of ICU nursing experience required
• Active Virginia RN license (or pending - must be in hand by Wednesday before start date)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• TNCC certification preferred
• Epic charting system experience required
• Level I or Level II Trauma experience preferred
• Experience with ventilated patients, vasoactive drips, arterial lines, central lines, and critical care procedures
• Must adhere to facility float policy as needed
• Flu vaccination required (no exemptions)
• BSN preferred
