Contract (13 Weeks) | Days | 3x12-Hour Shifts | Weekdays with Some Weekends | Possible Extension

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a Stepdown / Intermediate Care Unit with a typical 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio, flexing to 1:5 in emergencies
• Monitor and interpret telemetry strips and cardiac rhythms for a patient population with varying acuity levels
• Perform IV insertions and manage IV therapy as part of routine patient care
• Utilize Cerner EMR for accurate and timely clinical documentation
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to manage progressive care and telemetry-level patients
• Adhere to unit scheduling expectations, including some weekend shifts; weekend block schedules (Fri/Sat/Sun or Sat/Sun/Mon) may be considered

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in West Virginia or a valid Compact RN license (pending license accepted at time of submission)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required; at least 1 year in a Medical/Surgical or Telemetry setting and 2 years in a Stepdown environment preferred
• BLS (BCLS) and ACLS certifications required — must be issued through the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Demonstrated ability to read and interpret cardiac rhythm strips
• Proficiency with IV starts and telemetry monitoring
• Must have a permanent address more than 100 miles from the facility; candidates residing between 75–100 miles may be considered on a case-by-case basis

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience caring for progressive care or telemetry-level patients in a larger facility setting
• Familiarity with Cerner EMR
• Ability to adapt to varying patient acuity within a stepdown environment
