Expected Duration: 12 months contract with possible extension
Pay Range: $27/hr
Please note that actual compensation may vary within this range due to factors such as location, experience, and job responsibilities, and does not encompass additional non-standard compensation (e.g., benefits, paid time off, per diem, etc.).
Position is with Global Payroll Services for North America in the payroll tax reporting unit. The Payroll Tax Reporting Specialist is responsible for the accurate, timely filing and reporting of employer payroll taxes, including the reconciliation and funding of tax liabilities across federal, state, and local jurisdictions. This role leverages systems such as Workday and ADP SmartCompliance to manage tax calculations, filings, payments, and account balances, while ensuring strict compliance with regulatory requirements and internal controls. A strong focus is placed on end-to-end reconciliation, funding accuracy, and risk mitigation.
Responsibilities:
• Perform Payroll Tax Filings for Canada on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis and ensures timely filings and payments.
• Review balance and approve Payroll Tax Filings for USA on a daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis for a multi-state corporation and ensures timely filings and payments.
• Review and approve filing of Annual Tax Forms to agencies.
• Ability to balance and reconcile payroll results against vendor reporting.
• Research and respond to any agency notices and work to resolve issues.
• Participate in managing payments to tax authorities in compliance with specific tax regulations.
• Translate processes into written procedures documenting steps accurately and updating existing procedures as business processes change.
• Processes assignments meeting the Service Level Agreement requirements and works within established deadlines and schedules.
• Works with other team members on established projects and initiatives.
• Works under little to no direct supervision and supports an expansive and/or diverse array of products/services.
• Coaches and trains more junior payroll specialists.
• Advises on procedures and concepts in technical/subject area and integrates with others in accomplishing the objectives of the sub function/ job family.
• Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
