Executive Director, Commercial Law/Commercial Contracts

Tango Therapeutics seeks an Executive Director of Commercial Law to lead commercial legal strategy and provide hands-on counsel to Medical Affairs, Commercial, and Market Access functions as the oncology-focused biotech prepares for product launch. Reporting to the SVP General Counsel, this attorney will manage commercial contracts, ensure regulatory compliance, and serve as a strategic advisor to the executive team.
Responsibilities
- Provide legal counsel on pre-launch activities, market access, and commercial strategy to growing Medical Affairs and Commercial teams
- Review and advise on marketing materials, promotional content, and medical/scientific communications for compliance
- Lead negotiation of commercial contracts with vendors, healthcare professionals, specialty pharmacies, payors, and distributors
- Interpret agreements, conduct risk analysis, and provide lifecycle management support for ongoing commercial relationships
- Contribute to Legal and Compliance team culture, knowledge-sharing, and departmental initiatives
Requirements
- J.D. from accredited law school; admitted to practice in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
- Minimum 10-12 years commercial law experience at top-tier law firm or biotech in-house
- In-house pharmaceutical/biotech legal experience strongly preferred
- Expertise in U.S. healthcare law, FDA promotional regulations, and industry compliance codes
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate business agreements and manage contract lifecycle
- Strategic judgment, executive presence, and practical business orientation
