Travel Respiratory Therapist Job Details

• Job Title: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
• Healthcare Setting: Hospital respiratory therapy department
• Location: Richland, Washington 99352
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,720–$1,850
• Start Date: November 16, 2026
• Assignment Duration: 13 weeks, through February 15, 2027
• Schedule: 36 hours per week with 12-hour rotating shifts; day shifts are approximately 7:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m. and night shifts are approximately 7:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m.
• Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend
• Call: Not required
• Floating: May float between hospital units or nearby sister facilities according to operational needs
• Orientation: Approximately 24 hours

Registered Respiratory Therapist Job Requirements

• At least 2 years of recent Registered Respiratory Therapist experience; a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience is required
• Active RRT credential and eligibility to practice in Washington State
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications
• Recent hospital-based respiratory therapy experience
• Experience documenting in Epic or a comparable electronic health record; Epic experience is required
• Proficiency caring for patients across adult critical care, emergency, pediatric, and neonatal settings
• Strong clinical assessment, communication, and collaboration skills
• Willingness to work rotating shifts, every-other-weekend coverage, and applicable holiday shifts
• Trauma Level II experience preferred

Respiratory Therapist Responsibilities

• Assess, treat, and monitor patients with acute and chronic respiratory conditions across multiple age groups
• Provide respiratory support using oxygen therapy, high-flow nasal cannula, CPAP, BiPAP, mechanical ventilation, and other respiratory care modalities
• Perform and interpret arterial blood gases and support pulmonary diagnostic and treatment plans
• Assist with intubations, extubations, bronchoscopy, high-risk deliveries, and neonatal or interdepartmental transports as assigned
• Provide tracheostomy care, airway suctioning, aerosol and inhaled medication treatments, pulmonary hygiene, and ventilator management
• Recognize changes in patient condition and respond promptly to respiratory emergencies
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate safe, effective patient care
• Document assessments, treatments, patient responses, and care plans accurately in the electronic health record
• Float between units as needed while maintaining high standards of patient safety and respiratory care service
