Travel Respiratory Therapist Job Details

• Location: Richland, WA
• Assignment Type: 13-week hospital travel assignment
• Start Date: November 16, 2026
• End Date: February 15, 2027
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,720–$1,850
• Schedule: 36 hours per week
• Shift: 12-hour rotating shifts; day shift approximately 7:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m. or night shift approximately 7:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m.
• Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend
• Call: Not required
• Floating: May float between hospital units or nearby affiliated facilities based on operational needs
• Electronic Medical Record: Epic experience required

Registered Respiratory Therapist Job Requirements

• At least 2 years of recent Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) experience
• Current Registered Respiratory Therapist credential and eligibility to practice in Washington
• Compact license must be in hand at submission, when applicable
• Current BLS, ACLS, NRP, and PALS certifications
• Recent hospital-based respiratory therapy experience
• Experience with electronic documentation; Epic experience required
• Strong clinical skills across adult, pediatric, neonatal, and geriatric patient populations
• Ability to work rotating 12-hour shifts, every other weekend coverage, and required holiday coverage
• Two professional references covering at least one year of recent experience within the last three years

Respiratory Therapist Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive respiratory care for patients ranging from neonates and pediatrics to adults and geriatric patients
• Assess respiratory status and support patients with acute and chronic cardiopulmonary conditions
• Manage oxygen therapy, aerosol treatments, nebulized medications, CPAP, BiPAP, HFNC, mechanical ventilation, and tracheostomy care
• Perform and interpret arterial blood gases and assist with airway management, intubation, and extubation
• Support emergency department, critical care, neonatal, pediatric, and inpatient respiratory needs
• Assist with high-risk deliveries, neonatal transports, and advanced respiratory procedures as clinically appropriate
• Monitor ventilator performance, troubleshoot alarms, and assist with weaning from mechanical ventilation
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and interdisciplinary support teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in Epic
• Float between units as needed while maintaining safe, high-quality patient care
