Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days | 4x12-Hour Shifts (7:00–19:00) | 13 Weeks | Expected 36–48 hours/week

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 26-bed acute care unit serving a diverse population, primarily General Surgery and Trauma patients
• Care for post-surgical patients, who comprise approximately 90% of the unit census, as well as patients with medical diagnoses
• Utilize cardiac monitoring, capnography/end-tidal CO2 monitoring, and continuous pulse oximetry, all available in every patient room
• Float within scope of practice as needed in accordance with facility float policy
• Document and manage patient care using Epic EMR
• Work every other weekend and every other holiday, with a requirement to work 2 out of 3 winter holidays

Required Qualifications

• Active Virginia RN license or Virginia RN license pending (must be in hand by the Wednesday prior to start date)
• Epic EMR experience required
• Current BLS certification
• Nursys verification required at time of submission
• Maximum of 40 hours of requested time off per 13-week contract; all RTO must be disclosed at submission
• Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible (locals are not accepted for this unit)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• ACLS certification preferred but not required
• BSN preferred
• Prior experience in a surgical or trauma patient care setting
