CNC Lathe Machinist - Weekend Shift (Nakamura / Mill-Turn)

Location: Brooklyn Park, MN (On-site) Job Type: Full-Time Pay Range: $23 – $38/hr (based on experience) Shift: Weekend Days — Friday–Sunday | 12-hour shifts Overtime: Available as needed Experience Level: Mid to Senior (3+ years preferred) Industry: Medical Device Manufacturing The Work You’ll Be Doing In this role, you will: Set up and operate Nakamura CNC lathe / mill-turn machines Read, edit, and optimize CNC programs in collaboration with engineering Interpret blueprints, process documentation, and GD&T requirements Perform first-article and in-process inspection to verify part quality Adjust offsets, tooling, and process parameters to maintain tight tolerances Run production while ensuring consistency and repeatability Perform part finishing operations including deburring and surface refinement Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment Perform routine preventative maintenance on machines Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams Machines, Controls & Equipment You’ll work with equipment such as: Machines: Nakamura CNC Lathe / Mill-Turn Centers Controls: (Fanuc-based / Nakamura controls) Inspection Tools: Calipers, micrometers, indicators, precision measuring tools Environment: Clean, bright, highly controlled manufacturing environment Materials You’ll Work With Stainless Steel Titanium Medical-grade alloys What We’re Looking For Required: 3+ years of CNC lathe or mill-turn machining experience Experience setting up and operating CNC machines independently Strong blueprint reading skills and understanding of GD&T Ability to perform in-process inspection and hold tight tolerances Strong attention to detail and process discipline Team-oriented with a positive, professional attitude Preferred (Not Required): Experience with Nakamura machines Mill-turn / multi-axis machining experience Light programming or macro editing experience Experience in medical device or high-precision manufacturing Why Machinists Like Working Here Machinists choose Lowell because: Work on complex, high-precision medical components that matter Clean, bright, and organized shop environment Advanced equipment with a strong focus on automation and process control Support from engineering and quality — not left guessing Opportunity to grow into more advanced machining and automation roles Stable company with 55+ years of proven success Pay, Benefits & Schedule Pay Range: $23 – $38/hr (DOE) Benefits: Medical, dental, and vision insurance Life insurance & short-term disability 401(k) with 3% employer contribution Profit-sharing plan Paid time off Schedule: Friday–Sunday 12-hour day shifts Overtime: Available as needed Apply Interested machinists can apply directly through hireCNC.
