Sous Chef

blackie's is looking for a talented Sous Chef who wants to be part of a kitchen that values quality, consistency, creativity, and teamwork. We're searching for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, from-scratch environment and takes pride in building great food and even better teams. This is more than an "assistant chef" position. You'll be a daily leader on the line, a coach for the team, and a key partner in executing our culinary vision. What You’ll Do Lead and inspire the kitchen team during service. Ensure every plate meets our standards for quality, consistency, and presentation. Coach, develop, and hold cooks accountable through positive leadership. Assist with scheduling, ordering, inventory, food costing, and labor management. Maintain exceptional food safety and sanitation standards. Work closely with the Executive Chef on menu execution, features, and operational improvements. Jump into any station when needed and lead by example. We're Looking For Someone Who Has previous leadership experience as a Sous Chef or strong Kitchen Manager. Is calm, organized, and decisive under pressure. Has a genuine passion for cooking and hospitality. Understands systems, prep, organization, and execution. Communicates clearly and professionally. Takes ownership rather than waiting to be told what to do. Loves developing people and building a strong team culture. Is dependable, humble, and driven to improve every day.
