About the Role
The Company is seeking a Head Start Program Director with a strong background in educational leadership and a deep commitment to childhood development and family welfare. The successful candidate will be responsible for the strategic and operational leadership of the Head Start/Early Head Start program, ensuring high-quality, culturally responsive child development services that align with performance standards. This role requires a mission-driven, community-centered leader with a clear focus on equity and positive outcomes for children and families. The Director will be tasked with building and sustaining collaborative relationships with various stakeholders, overseeing fiscal management, and leading a team to meet or exceed national average child outcomes and school readiness goals. Candidates for the Head Start Program Director position should have a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, with a Master’s degree being desirable, and at least 5 years of supervisory or managerial experience in human services program administration. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in fiscal and contract management, be adept at change management, and possess excellent communication and presentation skills. They should be politically astute, publicly accountable, and capable of operating effectively in a transparent environment. The role also demands a leader with a strong operational and systems mindset, capable of stabilizing and improving service delivery across multiple sites and program models. Experience in federally funded programs and a background in early childhood education are highly valued.
