Club Men's Lacrosse Offensive Coordinator/ Assistant Coach

Club Men's Lacrosse Assistant Coach The University of Denver is seeking a knowledgeable and dedicated assistant coach to lead our Club Men's Lacrosse team for the 2026-2027 season. This is a non‑benefited position not to exceed 1,000 hours per calendar year. The role requires experience coaching at a high level and a strong background in lacrosse. Essential Functions Travel to away games, 2‑3 weekly evening practices, and weekends for games. Coach from September to the end of March (no coaching during summer or winter break). Plan and execute effective and productive practices and game plans. Coordinate with other coaches and set goals (shooting percentage, goals per game, assist‑to‑turnover ratio). Lead practice planning, film study, scouting and game preparation. Create a safe, supportive, and inclusive training environment for all athletes, ensuring adherence to team and university standards. Develop seasonal training plans, prepare athletes for competition, and provide strategic coaching to help the club achieve their goals. Promote a positive team culture and encourage sportsmanship, discipline, and accountability among club members. Maintain effective communication with the Club Sports Manager and other relevant university staff. Abide by the University of Denver club coaching policies and guidelines. Attend mandatory coach meetings with the Club Sports Manager and any other required trainings. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Strong leadership skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including fostering team spirit, motivating athletes and conflict resolution. Ability to balance fun with competitiveness and ensure players enjoy their experience. Passion for working with athletes. Required Qualifications Prior coaching experience. Strong lacrosse background. First Aid/CPR/AED Certification (acquirable within first 30 days of employment). CDC Heads Up Concussion Training Certification (acquirable within first 30 days of employment). Willingness to work flexible hours and availability to work evenings (3pm‑10pm) and weekends (Saturday and Sunday) based on the team’s training and competition schedule. Preferred Qualifications Three or more years of prior coaching experience. Work Schedule Average 10‑15 hours per week. Evenings (3pm‑10pm) and weekends (Saturday and Sunday). Ability to travel to away games and attend weekly practice sessions. Coach from September to the end of May.
