Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices for healthcare applications.
- Develop integrations between healthcare systems, EHR/EMR platforms, payer systems, and third-party vendors.
- Build and support APIs using healthcare interoperability standards such as:
- HL7 v2.x
- FHIR R4/R5
- X12 EDI (834, 835, 837)
- CDA / CCD
- Develop secure APIs utilizing OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect (OIDC), JWT, and API Gateway solutions.
- Collaborate with product owners, business analysts, architects, and healthcare SMEs to define API requirements.
- Perform API versioning, documentation, monitoring, and performance optimization.
- Participate in API lifecycle management, deployment automation, and DevOps processes.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, CMS interoperability requirements, and healthcare security standards.
- Troubleshoot API performance, integration issues, and production incidents.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of API development experience.
- 3+ years of Healthcare domain experience.
- Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
