Human Resources Specialist

Human Resources SpecialistIf selected for this position, you will serve as a Human Resources Specialist in the United States Attorney's Office, Southern District of New York. You will provide a variety of human resources services to attorneys and support staff in areas such as employee benefits, employee compensation, and staffing and recruitment. Typical duties include:Using automated staffing systems to develop vacancy announcements by gathering information from position descriptions, qualification standards, and processing new-hire onboarding.Researching, interpreting, and applying human resource related laws and regulations to individual situations and questions raised by employees and supervisors.Conducting new employee orientation.Providing advice and assistance to employees and management in the area of employee benefits to include health insurance, retirement, and life insurance.Assisting employees in preparing paperwork related to HR actions, reviewing forms for completeness.Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.
