Step into an impactful role supporting student development as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant. This contract opportunity spans multiple school sites, working with children ages Pre-K through transition age (22), providing you with a dynamic, fulfilling environment each day. The full-time position offers between 35-37.5 hours per week, following the schedule of elementary, middle, and high schools in the district.
You'll play a pivotal part in helping students reach their fullest potential through collaboration with occupational therapists, teachers, and other school professionals. Each day brings new challenges and rewards as you adapt your approach to diverse caseloads and school communities.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Active clinical license from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
- Active educator license from the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE)
- Previous school-based COTA experience is highly preferred
- Ability to work across age groups from Pre-K to young adults (transition age 22)
- Flexible, collaborative approach to managing changing caseloads
- Must complete required fingerprinting for credentialing
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy interventions tailored to students' individual education plans
- Travel between school sites within the district to serve varied caseloads
- Support students in developing fine motor, life, and social skills needed for classroom success
- Maintain accurate documentation and provide input to multidisciplinary teams
- Collaborate with occupational therapists, educators, and families to optimize student outcomes
